Property Management

The Property Management Division administers and manages the purchase, sale and lease of real property for the benefit of the public including the issuance of permits and/or easements to occupy City-owned property.  Property Management also responds to requests and identifies areas suitable for expansion of the City’s corporate limits (annexation).

Annexation is a process prescribed by Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) Chapter 268, which involves an application, public meetings, and often requires a report for the provision of public services. Annex into the City of Henderson corporate limits.

Donate Property to the City
Process of gifting private property to the City for public use such as parks and public school sites most often as the result of development conditions of approval. Donate property to the City.

Sale of City Property
NRS 268.050 through 268.063 outlines the process for municipal agencies to sell City-owned property.  Unless otherwise stated in the law, all land sales of City-owned property must be conducted in a public session of the City Council.  Obtain more information on the Sale Process.

Lease City-owned property

Occupancy Permits
The City requires permits for incidental uses on City-owned properties.

A letter of interest to the Property Management Division initiates the process. The letter must identify the property, the proposed use and the benefit to the public. A proposed plan of development (including a conceptual site plan) must accompany the letter.

In addition, Property Management serves as the City’s liaison on issues involving public lands managed by the federal government.
