Delivering the highest quality of service and maintaining a progressive attitude is the basic core of ideals for the Henderson Fire Department. Our organization exists to serve our customers. We empower our members to help whenever a need is identified. We believe that the Henderson Fire Department provides our customers with the highest level of service possible.

The City of Henderson Fire Department serves over 267,000 residents in one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. The Department operates from nine stations, covering the city limits (approximately 104 square miles), and provides automatic and mutual aid to surrounding areas.

The department is comprised of 209 full-time employees:  13 Chief Officers, 178 Fire/Rescue personnel, and 18 Support Staff.

We are a full-service department, providing services such as fire/rescue operations, emergency medical services including paramedic and rescue treatment and transportation, public fire safety education and code enforcement. The Office of Emergency Management is also located within the Fire Department.

The City of Henderson Fire Department is one of the few fire departments in the nation accredited by two agencies: Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) and Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI). Wee one of only six fire departments in the United States to hold accreditation from CAAS and one of 51 fire departments in the U.S. to hold accreditation from CFAI.

One of our largest undertakings is a Performance Budget to be used as a guide in anticipating needs. The Performance Budget is intended to bring focus to the department's services, programs, and issues. It serves as an evaluation of the department's mission and as a budgeting guide and action plan guide for goals we plan to complete this year and in the future. The Performance Budget will be evaluated, revised, and updated each year for any priority changes, budgetary restraints, and planning refinements that may occur. The Performance Budget is designed to continually explore new ways to improve our services.
