Neighborhood Programs
The neighborhood programs section helps foster positive relationships with citizens, neighborhood groups, and the City through a variety of different services, programs, and partnerships that promote a sense of community.
We accomplish this by improving communication and connecting citizens with government through a variety of programs:
City representatives speak at group events on various City of Henderson topics to inform, promote, and raise awareness of City programs, services, and procedures.
Designed for neighborhood leaders to heighten aware of City programs, services, projects and procedures to disseminate to their respective neighborhoods, and to promote neighborhood group relations and networking.
An annual open-house event at the Galleria Mall that informs citizens about different City departments' programs, services, and projects.
"If I Were the Mayor of Henderson..." Essay Contest
Essay contest opened to all Henderson 5th-graders. Five winning essays are chosen based on spelling, grammar, originality and understanding of local government.
Neighborhood Association Formation
Neighborhood Specialists will help facilitate the process needed to form a neighborhood association for neighborhoods that are not part of an HOA.
"Your Neighborhood Matters" Publication
A periodic publication that goes out to residents and neighborhood leaders to address neighborhood issues, concerns, or to communicate City policies and ordinances.
Monthly emails sent to neighborhood leaders and community managers to inform them of programs, services and upcoming events. Many HOA's include this information in their community newsletters.
Neighborhood Liaisons are a team of three neighborhood specialists that work across department lines to get results for citizen inquiries, requests, problems, and questions. The city has been divided into three service areas in order to increase availability, network, build community relations, proactively identify issues, and increase lines of communication.
Neighborhood Programs Specialists work in tandem with Henderson Neighborhoods on a variety of projects that benefit the community.
