Mountain Vista Street and Sunset Road Lane Restrictions Planned For Comprehensive Road Improvement Project

Henderson, Nev. – Beginning Monday, July 30, starting at Whitney Mesa Drive southeast to Stephanie Street on Sunset Road will incur lane restrictions to allow for extensive road improvements.
Travel on Mountain Vista Street and Sunset Road will have reduced lanes in each direction. Business access will remain open.
The road work is part of a six-month project extending from Whitney Mesa Drive to Stephanie Street. The project will result in wider travel lanes and connection to the F.A.S.T. (Freeway and Arterial System of Transportation) system. The work includes removal and replacement of the road surface, medians, curbs, storm drains, conduit and traffic signals. Southwest Gas will also be constructing infrastructure improvements along Sunset Road during the same timeframe as this road improvement project. The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) funded a significant portion of the $3.2 million improvements, with the city of Henderson providing approximately $86,000 toward the project.
