Mountain Vista Street Open - Sunset Road Restrictions Continue For Comprehensive Road Improvement Project

Henderson, Nev. – All traffic lanes in both directions will be open by Saturday on Mountain Vista Street extending from north of Sunset Way to Whitney Mesa Drive. Road improvements and media reconstruction have been completed for this portion of the project.
Lane restrictions on Sunset Road between Stephanie Street and north of Sunset Way will continue for underground utility work as well as the continuation of the extensive road improvement project.
The road work is part of a six-month project extending from Whitney Mesa Drive to Stephanie Street. The project will result in wider travel lanes and connection to the F.A.S.T. (Freeway and Arterial System of Transportation) system. The work includes removal and replacement of the road surface, medians, curbs, storm drains, conduit and traffic signals. Southwest Gas will also be constructing infrastructure improvements along Sunset Road during the same timeframe as this road improvement project. The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) funded a significant portion of the $3.2 million improvements, with the city of Henderson providing approximately $86,000 toward the project.
