Henderson Police Department Hosts Career Fair for Brown Middle School Students

Henderson, Nev. – The Henderson Police Department will be having a career day for the students of Brown Middle School on Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Brown Middle School is located at 307 Cannes Street in Henderson.
The Police Department will have several officers from various units at the event. Officers from SWAT, K-9, the Traffic Unit, Community Relations, and other units will be present to display their equipment and resources. The purpose of Career Day is to encourage middle school students to build relationships with police officers, and foster interest in law enforcement careers.
The Henderson Police Department has recently started a pilot program reaching out to students at Basic High School and its feeder schools. As part of the pilot program, Clark County School District (CCSD) Police Officers who patrol Basic High School attend morning briefings at the Henderson Police Department and exchange information with Henderson Patrol Officers. The CCSD Police Officers and the Henderson Police Officers are working cooperatively to help keep our children safe.
