Shiver Me Timbers!
2:00-3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 22, Black Mountain Aquatic Complex
Take part in our Shiver Me Timbers Cardboard Boat Race and glide across the pool with your own colorfully decorated cardboard boat. Prizes will be awarded for best-looking boat, most creative design, best-dressed crew and, of course, the Titanic award for the fastest-sinking ship. Human crews push their boats across the pool using kickboards. Competitors will race by age group. Rad Tad Water Safety Day focuses on educating parents, grandparents, guardians and day care providers about the importance of child safety in and around the water. Demonstrations target personal water safety and emergency water safety techniques that can be easily implemented by children and adults. Demonstrations include CPR, first aid and basic water rescue. Enjoy a night out with your family and take in some cool activities in and around the pool. Take a dip, jump in the bounce house, glide down the slide, compete in some games and refuel on some snacks. The pool will remain open later than usual for this special night. Children under 8 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian within arm’s reach at all times. All ages.$2-$3 per person.
