Police Chiefs
Floyd E. Osborne

Floyd E. Osborne moved to Henderson in 1955. He spent most of his life in law enforcement. Osborne spent several years in police work in California before being hired by Henderson Police Department as a Police Reserve Officer in 1956 and then hired as a Police Officer in 1957. Osborne was Henderson Police Department's first motorcycle officer. He was promoted to sergeant in 1961 and to assistant chief in 1964. When Chief Crisler passed away in April 1968, he took over the duties of Chief of Police until a new chief was appointed by the Henderson City Council. After Chief Allen took office, he returned to his duties as assistant chief. On June 13, 1972, after the retirement of Chief Allen, Osborne was appointed Chief of Police.
