The Henderson Detention Center is a 24 hour, seven-day-a-week operation for the confinement
of pre-trial and post sentenced individuals involved in the judicial process. It has a capacity of 262 beds and 7 holding cells. Unless remanded to adult status by the court having jurisdiction over the case, juveniles are not housed in the facility. The philosophy governing this facility is that one's loss of freedom is, in itself, sufficient punishment. All inmates will be treated with dignity and respect. The facility consists of a food services unit, employing highly qualified food service personnel who provide meals to all inmates as well as staff. Medical and mental health care is provided by a contracted medical service provider which includes 24 hours nursing care, weekly physician and psychiatric visits.
