Henderson Police
Police RecordsThe Records Bureau of the Henderson Police Department is comprised of civilian employees who provide clerical support for the Police Department by maintaining all reports of police related activity, and performing data entry into a variety of criminal justice information systems. The Police Department uses Records Management software that provides electronic storage of all police reports. Police officers use laptop computers to document information related to a crime, incident, traffic accident, field interview or arrest. That data is then downloaded for review by a supervisor before being electronically transferred to the Records Management System. All data is verified and when appropriate forwarded to the Investigations Division or Patrol Division for follow-up or other law enforcement/criminal justice agencies.
The Records Bureau is responsible for processing requests for police reports from citizens, attorneys, insurance companies and other law enforcement/criminal justice agencies. They prepare Henderson arrest backgrounds for individuals, employers and military recruiters.
Another aspect of the Records Bureau is the processing of all paperwork on arrested persons. This includes ensuring all documents are present that are needed by the court and the prosecutor. They are also responsible for the timely submission of that paperwork to the court and prosecutors office.
The Fingerprint Unit is also part of Police Records. This unit provides fingerprint services for citizens, employees, sex offenders, convicted persons and criminal justice applicants in addition to performing an extensive verification process for all sex offenders and convicted persons living in the City of Henderson. Sex offenders must complete a State of Nevada Sex Offender Registration form and update information yearly or whenever the information changes with the State of Nevada Verification/Change of Information form. Offenders must appear in person at Henderson Police, 223 Lead Street, with the paperwork completed.
For fingerprints:
- Citizens do not need to bring a fingerprint card unless they have been provided a fingerprint card by their employer
- Fingerprints are $5, per fingerprint card
- You must live or work in Henderson
- The Fingerprint Unit does not take appointments; Service is based on first come, first serve
- The Henderson Police Department takes cash, credit or debit as payments for the fingerprinting
- For Child Care backgrounds, the state requires a money order made out to the Department of Public Safety for $37.50 in addition to the $5 charge Henderson Police requires for a fingerprint card
Requesting Reports
Police records are available Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Central Police Station in downtown Henderson located at 223 Lead Street. Additionally records are also now available at the West Command Police Station, 300 S. Green Valley Parkway, and the North Command Police Station, 225 E. Sunset Road, Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Citizens can call the Records Bureau at (702) 267-4700 with questions regarding the availability of a report.
Traffic Accident reports can be requested by fax, phone, mail or Contact Henderson. Some accident reports can be emailed to the requestor.
When requesting a report, please provide the following:
- Report number (Example 13-12345)
- Your name
- Type of incident (traffic accident, burglary, ect)
- Involved person's name(s)
- Date and time of incident
- Address or location of incident
Juvenile information is protected. Parents and/or legal guardians may receive a copy of a closed report with proof of parentage/guardianship.
