Background
Captain Wamsley was born in Glenwood Springs, CO, and moved to Clark
County in 1980. He joined the Henderson Police Department in 1989
Law Enforcement History
During his time as a police officer, he became a field training
officer and instructed various training classes. His assignments
includes the Narcotics Unit, Child Abuse Unit and Homicide Unit. He was
promoted to sergeant in 1999 and worked in Patrol, the Narcotics Unit
and the Special Victims Unit. He was promoted to lieutenant in 2004 and
promoted to captain in 2006. He is currently captain of the Criminal
Investigations Division.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration in Law Enforcement from Nevada State College, anticipated graduation in Spring 2008
- Attending the 228th session of the FBI National Police Academy in 2007
- POST Management and Executive Certificate

- Received the Nevada State Attorney General's Appreciation Award for dedication and commitment to the children of Nevada in 1998
- Spearheaded the Henderson Police Department Awards program for recognizing citizens and employees for extraordinary service
