Water Rates
Water rates consist of a flat monthly service charge, plus a volume charge based on a four-tier rate structure. As water consumption increases, there is a proportionally larger increase in the rate charged as the volume of water consumed crosses the threshold between tiers. The monthly service charge and volume charge vary depending on the type of account and water meter size. The majority of Henderson customers are single family residences and have a 3/4 inch meter.
The City adopted a four-tier rate structure in 2003 to encourage water conservation. Customers who conserve water fall into the lower tiers and are rewarded by a lower water rate. The average Henderson single family residence consumes 16,000 gallons of water per month or less, and falls within the first two tiers.
Current water rates became effective November 1, 2006.

Sewer Rates
Sewer rates consist of a flat monthly service charge for all residential customers. Non-residential customers are charged a flat monthly service charge of $3.50, plus a volume charge based on water consumption.
Current sewer rates became effective July 1, 2006.
