Water Treatment Plant (WTP)
The City's Water Treatment Plant provides approximately 15% of the community's annual drinking water, with the remainder supplied by the Southern Nevada Water Authority. Constructed in 1994, the WTP can treat up to 15 million gallons per day.
Kurt R. Segler Water Reclamation Facility (WRF)
The Kurt R. Segler Water Reclamation Facility is the City's primary wastewater treatment plant. Constructed in 1994, the WRF provides treatment ranging from biological removal of solids and ammonia, to chemical removal of phosphorus, filtration, disinfection and dechlorination. The plant design centers around the Oxidation Ditch process (extended aeration) which provides biological treatment. The WRF is currently under construction to increase capacity to 32 million gallons per day by 2008.
Southwest Water Reclamation Facility (SWRF)
The Southwest Water Reclamation Facility (SWRF) is the City's first satellite treatment plant, and will treat only liquid waste produced by West Henderson. The SWRF is currently under construction and will begin operation in 2010 with a capacity of eight million gallons per day.
